Steve has been described as one of the Chattanooga’s top “talents you might not know, but should” in The Pulse, Chattanooga’s weekly alternative newspaper. This is what they wrote about Steve:

Steve Terlizzese created his first mosaic in his South Florida kitchen 15 years ago. He covered his countertops and splash with old tiles he found at a salvage yard and almost immediately became hooked on the medium. Now a full-time resident of the Scenic City, he is known as “The Mosaic Guy,” and spends most of the year exhibiting his work at art shows and festivals across the country.

“Being a professional collage mosaic artist allows me to do all the things I love to do,” he says, “and be the creative man I was meant to be.”

While his show and festival schedule keeps him busy and provides him with a comfortable living, Terlizzese says his hearts’ desire is to create larger works.

“I want to get off the hamster wheel of art production and have some time to develop these larger works,” he says. “I want to mosaic buildings, parks and other public places, so people can enjoy my work long after I’ve departed this world. But whatever I do mosaically, I want to always provide intricate collages that are thoughtful, beautiful, spiritual, whimsical and insightful. If my work is encouraging and inspiring, then I’m doing it right.”
